Mobile applications are a move away from integrated software systems that are usually found on a PC. Instead, each application provides limited and isolated features, such as a game, calculator, antivirus, or mobile web browsing.
The simplest mobile applications use PC-based applications and are transferred to a mobile device. A more complex approach involves the development specifically for the mobile environment, using both its limitations and advantages. For example, applications that use location-based features are initially created from scratch for mobile devices, given that the user does not have the same location concept on a PC.
