Antiviruses
Antivirus or Antivirus software (abbreviated as AV- software), also known as anti-malware , is a computer program designed to prevent, detect and remove malware. Antivirus software was originally designed to detect and remove computer viruses , hence the name. However, with the spread of other types of malware, antivirus software began to provide protection against other computer threats.
In particular, modern anti-virus software can protect against: malicious browser helper objects (BHOs), hijackers, ransomware, keyloggers, backdoors, rootkits, Trojan horses, worms, malicious LSPs, dialers, scammers, adware and anti-virus software spies.
Some products also include protection from other computer threats, such as infected and malicious URLs, spam, fraud and phishing attacks, online identification (confidentiality), online banking attacks, social engineering methods, constant threat attacks (APT) and DDoS botnets.
