Anti-theft function

Search for lost or stolen computers. Allows you to quickly mark a device as lost using the ESET web interface. Automatically monitors the location of lost devices. Displays the position on the map online, via a Wi-Fi connection. Saves pictures from the built-in camera on a personal page in your my.eset.com account and provides access to the collected information.

Idle-state Scanning

Performing an in-depth system scan while the computer is not in use. This feature allows you to automatically start a scan when the computer is in a locked or user shutdown state. Thus, high performance of the entire system is achieved.

ESET Social Media Scanner app

Facebook account protection. An additional module that is built into the user account of a popular social network. The application scans for malicious links that can be sent along with the message or left in the comments to the user's status, warns of receiving malicious code.

Installation

ESET HOME Security Premium contains components that may conflict with other installed antivirus and security software.
It is highly recommended to uninstall all such programs to prevent possible problems.
There is no need to disable or uninstall Windows Firewall in Microsoft Windows Vista or later systems as all necessary steps are automatically taken care of by the ESET HOME Security Premium installer.

Detection of potentially unwanted applications

Because some potentially unwanted applications are used in an acceptable way and may not pose a security threat, user consent is required to enable detection.

Completing the installation

After you have configured all the necessary settings, you can proceed with the final installation by clicking the Install button. The progress of the installation will be shown with a progress bar. After installation is complete, ESET HOME Security Premium will automatically launch. As a rule, you do not need to restart your computer, and ESET HOME Security Premium will immediately start protecting your computer from malware.

Setting up a trusted zone

If a network connection is detected after the installation is complete, a notification will appear allowing you to set up a trusted zone. The notification that a new network connection was detected displays the local subnet that was set when the computer was configured. These settings only affect the visibility of the computer on the local network, and not on the Internet.

There are two access modes.

Public network: Select this option if you do not want to share your folders or printers and make your computer visible to other users on this network. This setting is recommended when using a wireless connection.
Home/work network: Select this option if you want to be able to share files and folders on your computer and make your computer visible to other users on this network. This setting is recommended for trusted home or office LANs.
