Typical installation

A typical installation is performed using the configuration settings appropriate for most users. These parameters provide maximum protection and high system performance. Typical installation is the default option; in the absence of special requirements, you should not choose another way.

The early warning system ThreatSense.Net designed to timely inform ESET about new threats. It helps you quickly respond to threats to protect users. This system provides for the transfer of samples of malicious code to the lab the ESET Threat Lab. There they are analyzed, processed and added to the database of virus signatures. By default the checkbox "Include a system of early warning ThreatSense.Net" installed. To change sending options for the suspicious files, click "settings". For more information, see "ThreatSense.Net". The next step in installation is to configure detection of potentially unwanted applications. Apps related to potentially unwanted software may not be malicious, but they often adversely affect the operation of the operating system. Such programs often come with useful, and installing them is hard to notice during the installation of the entire software package. Although the installation of these applications is typically displayed notification, they may be installed without the user's consent. It is recommended to select "Enable detection of potentially unwanted software"to allow ESET NOD32 Antivirus to detect this type of threat. If you enable this function is not necessary, select "Disable detection of potentially unwanted programs". To complete the installation click "Install".

Custom setup

Custom install is for advanced users who wish to modify advanced settings during installation of the application. If you use a proxy server, you can specify its parameters by selecting the checkbox "I use a proxy server". Enter the IP address or URL of the proxy server into the field "Address". In the field "Port" enter the port on which the proxy server accepts connection requests (default 3128). If the proxy server requires authentication, enter the correct user name and password required to access it. If the proxy server is not used, select "I do not use proxy server". In the next step, you can define users that will be able to change the configuration of the program. To grant user rights, select them in the list in the left part of the window and click "Add". To display all system users, select the check box "Show all users". The early warning system ThreatSense.Net is designed to timely inform ESET about new threats.
